IMRON’s access control software now integrates with the Onity® Wireless Lock (OWL) using its open architecture interface. This interface is available through the Onity Partner Enterprise Network (OPEN) program. Onity is part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

The OWL is available in wireless and offline versions and helps to facilitate decision making at the lock by using an intelligent on-board database. Designed to be modular, the OWL allows for upgrades to be installed easily in the field. With wireless communication, users have the ability to make updates without physical contact to the lock, as well as receive reports on critical events in real-time.
The OWL can be easily upgraded to various reader types – HID iClass, MIFARE Classic®, 125 KHz Prox and Magstripe – and from offline to wireless with minimal modifications. Most of the existing hardware is utilized to minimize cost to the customers. Reader changes can be performed in less than five minutes, while wireless upgrades are as simple as removing the trim panel, mounting the wireless antenna, and pushing a button.
